Welcome to the Encoded Libraries and Biophysical Lead Discovery Topical Interest Group - We're excited to have you!
A nascent charter for this TIG follows below - please have a look and consider how you can contribute to the community - if there are opportunities/initiatives you would like to lead or contribute to, please reach out!
TIG CHARTER
here we aim to foster community, elevate the visibility of these technologies within SLAS, and provide a platform to both share insights as well as collaboration
actions to achieve these goals:
Foster Community:
the gap: many of the SLAS community are spread out globally. Thus, we need a broad solution for meeting. We aim to:
Host combination of in-person and virtual meetings
(1) TIG meetings in person at SLAS International Expo and SLAS Europe.
(2) Host at least 3 meet up events annually outside of SLAS & SLAS Europe Expos (2 in USA, 1 in Europe)
(3) Host 6 or more webinars per year
Elevate visibility of DEL & Biophys Technologies at SLAS
(1) advocate for sessions/tracks in these topics at SLAS & eSLAS, providing nominees as session/track chairs when appropriate and use this community to drive up abstract submissions
(2) see webinars above- leverage combination of approaches to provide a regular webinar/seminar series
(2) Consult with SLAS journals to determine feasibility of Guest-editing a focus issue of their journal(s)
(3) coordinate across the TIG to socialize lists of posters from TIG participants
Platform for sharing insights & collaboration
(1) Host a combination of completed and emerging science at meet ups
(2) Identify knowledge gaps within the field and foster open discussion via mix of round table and panel approaches
