Hello SLAS Community,
Did you get a chance to read SLAS Point to Point, released today? Our first story is about OMB Proposed Rule changes that would significantly impact research funding from all federal agencies. You can read about it here: https://www.multibriefs.com/briefs/slas/slas062426.php
We are urging everyone in our community to submit comments on the proposed rules. You do not have to reside in the U.S. to submit comments. The deadline to do this is July 13, and we have resources on our website to guide you through this process: https://www.slas.org/news-highlights/news-center/2026-news-releases/omb-response/
SLAS is drafting its own set of comments, which we will release to all of you once they are submitted. But don't wait on us; it is critical that every comment be unique and specific. So, get with your government relations office or colleagues to start drafting your own comments now.
Once you have submitted your comments, please also share them with your Senators and Representative. It is important Congress knows how detrimental these new rules could be to scientific research.
If you submit comments, please share them in this community. If you have suggestions or thoughts on points to make, please share them here as well. I'd love to hear from you.
